It is an original hand-painted oil on stretched canvas, made to order in our collective. The slate chair, hat, and boots are knifed and brushed on in thick passes, so the ridged surface and ochre ground are genuine paint rather than a reproduction.
The slate blue and golden ochre feel warm and a touch nostalgic, so it works in a study, a hallway, or a den. It pairs well with walnut, brass, and leather, and gives a wall a calm, narrative focal point.
